Stain Remover

Goodbye to yellow armpit stains!

1 tsp. Dawn,
3-4 tsp. Hydrogen Peroxide,
2 tbsp. baking soda.

Mix together, rub in, and be amazed!

Also works for grease stains.

Winter Sore Throat "Tea"

2 lemons thoroughly cleaned and sliced
2 piece of ginger about inch thick sliced into thin pieces
Honey (about 1 cup-maybe more)

In a 12-16 oz. jar combine lemon slices and sliced ginger. Pour honey (organic is best) over it slowly.

This may take a little time to let the honey sink down and around the lemon and ginger slices.

Make sure when the honey has filled in all the voids, there is enough to cover the top of the lemon slices.

Close jar and put it in the fridge, it will form into a "jelly".

To serve: Spoon jelly into mug and pour boiling water over it.

Homemade Dishwasher Detergent Cubes

1 C. Borax
1 C. Washing Soda
1/4 C. Epsom Salt
Lemon Juice

Mix all of the powders together. If your not sure about the borax you can omit it from the recipe. It won't harm the recipe at all.

Put 1 cup of the powder mixture into a bowl and pour oin a litlte bit of lemon juice.

For 1 Cup of powder I used 4 Tblsp. lemon juice. You don't want it to be dry, but not soaking wet either.

2 tsp ground nutmeg*
2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cardamom (optional)

Combine all ingredients for desired mix and blend well. Store in a small, airtight container.

How to Make Pastry Flour

If you've ever come across a recipe calling for pastry flour, but cannot find it locally, pastry flour can be attained by mixing equal parts cake flour and all-purpose flour.

Brown Sugar

All you do is mix:

1 cup granulated cane sugar
1 Tablespoon unsulfured molasses.

That's it.

You mix it with a fork, your electric beaters or your hands (that's what I do).
If you want darker brown sugar, just add more molasses.
