Winter Sore Throat "Tea"

2 lemons thoroughly cleaned and sliced
2 piece of ginger about inch thick sliced into thin pieces
Honey (about 1 cup-maybe more)

In a 12-16 oz. jar combine lemon slices and sliced ginger. Pour honey (organic is best) over it slowly.

This may take a little time to let the honey sink down and around the lemon and ginger slices.

Make sure when the honey has filled in all the voids, there is enough to cover the top of the lemon slices.

Close jar and put it in the fridge, it will form into a "jelly".

To serve: Spoon jelly into mug and pour boiling water over it.

Bulk Brownie Mix

1 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Flour
1/3 Cup Cocoa
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Baking Powder

Once you are ready to bake them add:

2 Eggs
1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
1 teaspoon Vanilla
Bake @ 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

Instant Potato Soup

1 3/4 cups instant mashed potatoes, butter-flavored
1 1/2 cups powdered milk
2 tablespoons instant chicken garlic and herb seasoning
2 teaspoons dried onion flakes
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1/8 teaspoon turmeric
1/4 teaspoon white pepper

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients mixing until well blended.
Store in airtight container.

To serve, place 1/2 cup soup mix in bowl.
Add 1 cup boiling water.
Stir until smooth.

Let soup set 1 to 2 minutes to thicken slightly

Serves 6 , 6 cups

Basic Cake Mix (Bulk Recipe)

8 C. Cake Flour
1/4 C. Baking Powder
2 1/2 C. Vegetable Shortening
6 C. Sugar
1 1/2 tsp. Salt

In a large bowl, sift together cake flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Mix well With a pastry blender, cut in shortening until the mixture is as fine as cornmeal.
Put in a large airtight container.

Label as Basic Cake Mix and store in a cool dry place.

Use with 10 to 12 weeks.

Makes about 16 cups of mix.

Apple Muffin Mix

Apple Muffin Mix

2 C. Self rising flour
1/2 C. Sugar
1/4 C. Brown sugar
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 tsp. Nutmeg
1 C. Chopped dried apple

Mix: Combine and store in an airtight container.

Attach this to the Jar:
1 pk Mix
1 Egg
3/4 C. Milk
1/4 C. Vegetable oil

Preheat oven to 400.
Mix all ingredients just until moistened.
Fill greased muffin cups 3/4 full.
Bake 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.

Apple, Cinnamon, Walnut Oatmeal Mix

1 package {7 oz.} dried apples
1 container {18 oz.} quick-cooking oats
1 jar {3 oz.} non-dairy creamer
1/2 cup firmly-packed brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Place dried apples in a processor; process until finely chopped. Add remaining ingredients and process until well blended.
Store in airtight container. Give with serving instructions.
Makes 7 1/2 cups mix; about 15 servings.

Attach to jar or container: Stir 2/3 cup boiling water into 1/2 cup oatmeal mix until well blended. Let stand until thickened.

Amaretto Coffee Creamer

3/4 cup non-dairy coffee creamer
1 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
3/4 cup confectioners sugar

Combine all ingredients in a container with a tight fitting lid. Shake well to blend.
Store in airtight container and give creamer with the recipe for AmarettoCoffee.

Yields 12 servings.

Attach to the jar: Amaretto Coffee: In a mug, combine 2 tablespoons of creamer with 6 ounces of coffee.

Cake In A Mug

1 Micowave safe 12 ounce or larger mug
1 Cake mix any flavor
1 - four serving size, instant pudding mix

Throughly mix dry ingredients together put 1/2 cup of dry mix in mug

Flavor Ideas:
Yellow cake mix/pistachio pudding
Devils food cake mix/ chocolate pudding
Butterscotch cake mix/ butterscotch pudding
Spice cake/banana instant pudding
Lemon cake mix/ lemon pudding
Yellow cake mix/ vanilla pudding or french vaniila

Spray or grease mug and add
1/2 C. Mix,
1 tablespoon egg white
1 tablesppom oil
1 tablespoon water
Mix with a fork

Reindeer Food

Cup oatmeal
Glitter- any color you like
Small length of red ribbon
Small see-through plastic ziplock baggie

A reindeer note (see below)

Put the oatmeal in the plastic bag. Add the glitter.
Tie the plastic bag closed using the red ribbon.

Write or type the "Reindeer Note" (see text below).

Attach the note to the bag.
Reindeer Note:

Please do not eat this reindeer food.
For you to eat, it is not good.

Before you go to bed, please remember:

Russian Tea

1 C. Instant tea
2 C. Tang instant orange drink
1 Envelope dry lemonade mix
2 C. Sugar
2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Cloves

Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Keep in sealed jar.

Mix with hot or cold water -- 3 to 4 teaspoon to a glass, more or less to taste.

Christmas Granola

4 cups Quaker Oats (Quick or Old Fashioned, uncooked)
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup raw, unsalted sunflower seeds (optional)
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine, melted
2 tsp. grated orange peel
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt, optional
6 oz. pkg. dried cranberries (about 1-1/3 cups)

Heat oven to 350. Combine all ingredients except cranberries in large bowl; mix well.
Spread evenly in 15x10-inch jelly roll pan. Bake 40 minutes or until golden brown, stirring every 10 minutes.

Cake in a Coffee Cup

(read all instructions before starting)

1 cake mix any flavor1 (4 serving size) instant pudding mix ( not sugar free), any flavor

Place dry cake mix and dry pudding mix into a large bowl and blend well with a whisk.
This will be about 4 – 4 ½ cups dry mix and will make 8-9 coffee cup cake mixes.
Place 1/2 cup dry mix into a sandwich bag.

Connie’s Café Vegetable Beef and Turkey Soup

Ingredients
1 lb of Lean Ground Beef
1 lb of Ground Turkey
1 lb of any type of Cooked beef steak or roast cut into small bite sized chunks around a 1/2 “ (Cheep Cuts work well for this just place the chunks in a crock pot the night before with Salted water and cook on low till morning let cool)
1 stick of REAL Butter
1/2 Cup of Plain Flour
1 & 1/2 quarts of water
1 cup of chopped onion
1 28 oz can of tomato sauce
2 beef bouillon cubes
1 teaspoon of Salt
1 Tablespoon of Black Pepper
2 – cans of mixed veggies, Undrained
1 – can of Lima Beans or chickpeas, drained and rinsed

Bulk Tea Biscuits

Ingredients
10 C. Flour
1/3 C. Baking Powder
1 Tablespoon salt
1 Lb. Shortening ( softened)

For 1 Batch
3/4 C. Milk
raisins cheese, chives may be added (optional)

Procedure
( Measure all ingredients accurately).
Combine Flour, Baking powder and salt in a large bowl. cut in shorting with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.

White Sauce Mix

Ingredients
2 cups  instant nonfat dry milk or 1 1/2  cups  regular nonfat dry milk
1  cup  flour
2  teaspoons  salt
1 cup  butter or margarine

Procedure
1. Combine dry milk, flour, and salt. Mix well with a wire whisk.
2. With a pastry cutter, cut in butter or margarine until mixture is crumbly.
3. Put in a large airtight container. Label with date and contents and store in refrigerator.

White Sauce Mix

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups powder milk
1 cup flour
1 cup butter Crisco
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika

Procedure
Blend dry ingredients. Cut in Crisco. Store in airtight container.
Makes 4 cups of mix, enough for 8 1-cup servings.

To prepare: for 1 cup,
Put 1/2 C. mix in pan.
Add 1 C. milk.
Bring to boil over low, stirring constantly. Boil gently 1 minutes.

White Hot Chocoalte Mix

Ingredients
1 teaspoon vanilla powder
1 teaspoon dried orange peel
1/2 cup grated white chocolate

Procedure
Combine and blend the ingredients in a small bowl. Store in an airtight container.

In a small saucepan, heat1 1/2 cups milk until bubbles form around the outside.
Add 1/4 cup White Hot Chocolate Mix and whisk until the chocolate is melted. Continue to whisk until the mixture is hot.

Turkey Noodle Soup Mix In A Jar

Ingredients
1 cup uncooked fine egg noodles
1 1/2 Tbs. chicken-flavored bouillon
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
1/4 tsp. dried whole thyme
1/8 tsp. celery seeds
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1 bay leaf

Procedure
Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl.

Sugar Cookie Mix In A Jar

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups white sugar
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Procedure

Layer all ingredients in Jar Or vacuum seal bag.
Attach Tag:
1 egg,
1 cup softened butter or margarine,
1/2 cup sour cream,
1 teaspoon vanilla extract,
1 Jar Mix.

Blend first 2 ingredients until fluffy, add remaining wet ingredients and then mix. Stir well.
Refrigerate dough 2 or more hours, roll and cut out as usual.
Bake at 375¼F for 8-12 minutes.

Sugar & Caffeine Free Spice Tea Mix

Ingredients
1 jar sugar free (3.3 oz.) caffeine free iced tea mix with lemon
2 pkgs. sugar free orange breakfast drink mix (1.8 oz.)
1 tbsp. + 1 tsp.ground cinnamon
2 tsp. ground cloves

Procedure
Combine all ingredients. Store in an airtight container or package into 3 (1 cup) gift packages.

To serve hot: Stir in 1 1/2 teaspoon of mixture into 1 cup hot water.

Only 3 calories per 1 cup serving.

Stove Top Stuffing Clone Mix

Ingredients
6 cups cubed bread
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
3 cubes chicken bouillon
1/4 cup dried minced onion
1/2 cup dried minced celery
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon sage
1/2 teaspoon salt

Procedure
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake bread 8 to 10 minutes, cool.
Dump all ingredients in a large bowl (that has a cover!) shake well to blend.

To Use: Combine 2 cups stuffing mix, 1/2 cup water, 2 tablespoons melted butter in a saucepan.

Snickerdoodle Instant Coffee

Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1 cup nonfat dry milk powder
1/2 cup powdered non-dairy creamer
1/2 cup cocoa
3 tablespoons powdered instant coffee
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Procedure
In large bowl combine all ingredients. Store in airtight container.

For single serving place 3 tablespoons mix in mug and add 3/4 cup boiling water.

Makes 3 cups

Sloppy Joe Seasoning Mix

Ingredients
1 T dried onions
1 tsp. bell peppers freeze-dried
1 tsp. salt -- or to taste
1 tsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp dried minced garlic
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 tsp chili powder

Procedure
Measure all ingredients into a Ziploc bag, seal & shake well. (makes 1 mix or approx 3 T).

To Use:
1 lb ground beef,
1 mix recipe Sloppy Joe seasoning mix,
8 oz. Tomato Sauce,
1/2 cup water.
Brown beef and then drain.
Add remaining ingredients, simmering about 10 minutes.

Serve over hamburger buns.

Sand Art Brownies Mix In A Jar

Ingredients
wide mouth quart canning jars with lid and rings
1 round (6 yards) craft ribbon
2 pieces card stock for tags
1/2 yard print cotton fabric

2/3 teaspoon salt
1 1/8 cups flour, divided
1/3 cup cocoa powder
2/3 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnuts or pecans

Procedure
Wash, rinse and dry canning jars.

Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Mix In A Jar

Ingredients
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
8 Reese's peanut butter cups, cut into 1/2 inch pieces

Procedure
Mix together the flour, baking powder and baking soda. Set aside. Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 quart ''wide mouth'' canning jar.

Press each layer firmly in place. It will be a tight fit. Add chopped peanut butter cups last.

Ingredients
1 3/4 cups instant mashed potatoes
1 1/2 cups dry milk powder
2 tablespoons instant chicken bouillon granules
2 teaspoons dried minced onion
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon turmeric
1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt

Procedure
Combine all ingredients. in a bowl and mix.
Makes 6 servings.

Place in 1 quart canning jars to store.

Instructions to attach to jar:
To serve: place 1/2 cup mix in soup bowl and add 1 cup boiling water. Stir until smooth.

Potato Chip Cookie Mix In A Jar

Ingredients
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cups crushed potato chips
2/3 cup chopped pecans
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder

Procedure
In a small bowl, stir together the flour and baking powder. Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 quart "wide mouth" canning jar.

It will be a tight fit. Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient.

Decorate the jar and attach a tag with the following directions:

Empty jar of cookie mix into large mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly.
Add: 2 sticks butter, softened and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix until blended completely.

Pizza Dough Mix In A Jar

Ingredients
2 3/4 cups bread flour
1 package (1 Tbsp.) active dry yeast
2 tsp. salt
In a medium bowl, combine all the ingredients. Place the mix in an airtight container(jar).

Procedure

Attach this to the Jar:
Makes 2  12-inch pizzas
1 Jar Pizza Dough Mix
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 cup warm water
1cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan
1 tsp. crushed oregano

Place the Pizza Dough Mix in a large bowl & add the oil and water.

Peanut Butter Cookie Mix In A Jar

Ingredients
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cups packed powdered sugar
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups flour + 1 tsp baking powder + 1/4 tsp salt

Procedure
Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 quart ''wide mouth'' canning jar. (clean inside of jar after each layer) Be sure to pack everything down firmly before adding the flour mixture, it will be a tight fit.
