Golden Corral Bread Pudding


Golden Corral Bread Pudding
3 Cups French bread cubed and partially dried
1/2 Cup melted butter
2 Cups whole milk
2 eggs beaten
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 Cup brown sugar (dark)

Scald milk and butter together. Remove and set aside. Beat eggs, add brown sugar and cinnamon. When milk is cool enough add egg mixture making sure that the egg mixture does not curdle. Add bread cubes and stir carefully, do not beat. Place in an 8"x11" well- oiled pan.

Place in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes, check with
toothpick. When done set aside

KFC Biscuits

1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
2/3 cup milk
1/3 cup vegetable shortening

Preheat oven to 425º F.
Sift together flour, salt, sugar and baking powder into mixing bowl.
Make a well in the flour mix and add the milk.
Add shortening and begin kneading with hands (to cut in) the vegetable shortening and flour in the milk until thoroughly mixed.

Add milk, if needed to form, and mix.
Turn onto floured board, and knead gently 6 to 8 times.
Pat dough to 1/2-inch thickness.
Cut into biscuits.

Denny's-Style French Toast

4 eggs
2/3 cup whole milk
1/3 cup flour
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
6 slices Texas toast thick bread
3 tablespoons butter
powdered sugar

Mix together the eggs, milk, flour, sugar, vanilla, salt& cinnamon.
Heat a large skillet, or griddle.
When the skillet is hot, add 1 tablespoon butter.
If the butter smokes, your pan is too hot; turn down the heat.
Dip each slice of bread into the batter for 30 seconds on each side.
Let some of the batter drip off, then put in skillet.

KFC Originl Secret Chicken II

1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
3 beaten eggs
4 tablespoons oil

For the coating

2 cups flour
4 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning (or chicken stock powder)
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon tarragon
1 teaspoon parsley
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon chives
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon celery salt


Sift flour and add together all the coating ingredients and grind finely with a mortar and pestle and place in a clean plastic bag.

Homemade Cheez-Its Recipe

8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, grated
3 Tablespoons of unsalted butter, room temperature
1 Tablespoon vegetable shortening*
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup flour
2 Tablespoons ice water
Coarse salt for sprinkling


1. Combine cheese, butter, shortening, and salt in the bowl of your mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. The mixture will be crumbly.
2. Slowly add flour and then the ice water.
You may add a few more drops of water to help it come together but be careful not to add too much.
You don’t want a wet dough.

Homemade Sweetened Condensed Milk

1 C. powdered milk
2/3 C. sugar
1/3 C. boiling water
3 T. margarine
2 T. white Karo® syrup

Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth.
Makes 1 1/4 cups, the same as one can sweetened condensed milk.

Olive Garden's Bruschetta al Pomodoro

4 Roma (plum) tomatoes, diced
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 garlic clove, cut in half
Black pepper to taste
Salt to taste
10 medium fresh basil leaves, chopped
4 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
8 slices crusty Italian bread
Extra virgin olive oil (to drizzle)

Combine diced tomatoes and chopped garlic in a mixing bowl. Season with salt & pepper to taste. Add half of chopped basil and 4 Tbsp of extra virgin olive oil.
Drizzle both sides of bread slices with extra virgin olive oil. Grill bread lightly on both sides.

Waffle House Waffles

1 1/2 C. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
1/2 C. granulated sugar
1 Tblsp. granulated sugar
2 Tblsp. butter, softened
2 Tblsp. shortening
1/2 C. half-and-half
1/2 C. milk
1/4 C. buttermilk
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Combine flour, salt and baking soda in a medium bowl and stir to combine.
Lightly beat the egg in another medium bowl and combine with sugar, butter, and shortening.
Mix until smooth.
Add the half & half, milk, buttermilk and vanilla and mix.

Popeye's Dirty Rice

1 lb Spicy breakfast sausage
1/2 C.long grain rice
1 (14 oz.) can of clear chicken broth
1 tsp dry minced onion

Brown the sausage in a skillet until cooked through. As it cooks, crumble the sausage with a fork.
Stir in the broth, rice and minced onion.
Cover and simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the rice is tender.

Most of the broth should be absorbed.

Kit Kat Bars

Ritz Crackers
1 1/2 C. graham crackers, crushed
3/4 C. brown sugar
1 C. white sugar
3/4 C. butter or margarine
1/3 C. milk
1 C. butterscotch chips
1 C. semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 C. peanut butter

Put graham crackers, brown sugar, white sugar, butter and milk into a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes.
Put a layer of crackers in a 9 x 13-inch pan and pour 1/2 of the mixture over it.

Put another layer of crackers and pour the remaining mixture. Add one last row of crackers.
Melt, over low heat, the butterscotch chips, chocolate chips and peanut butter.

Lawry's Seasoning Salt

2 Tblsp.. pepper
1 Tblsp.. chicken bouillon powder
1 tsp. onion salt
1 tsp. onion powder
1 Tblsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. cumin powder
1 tsp. dry marjoram leaves
1 Tblsp. minced parsley
1 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. curry powder
1 Tblsp. chili powder
1/3 C. salt

Mix all ingredients together thoroughly, or put all ingredients into a 1-quart mayonnaise jar with tight fitting lid, shaking until blended well.
Keep at room temperature.

Use within 3 months.

Yields about 1 cup.

Homemade Peanut Butter Cups

2 cups milk chocolate chips
2 tablespoons shortening
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter
1 cup confectioners' sugar
2/3 cup graham cracker crumbs
30 mini (1 3/4 by 1 1/4 inch) paper cups

In 1-quart saucepan combine chocolate chips and shortening.
Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until melted and smooth (3 to 5 minutes).

Cheesecake Factory Avocado Eggrolls

Egg Rolls:
1 large avocado, peeled, pitted, & diced
2 Tblsp. sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
1 Tblsp. finely chopped red onions
1/2 tsp. fresh cilantro, chopped
1 dash salt
4 egg roll wraps (can also use won ton wraps)
1 egg, beaten
Oil for deep-frying

Dipping Sauce:
1/4 C. olive oil
4 tsp. white vinegar
1 tsp. balsamic vinegar
1/2 tsp. tamarind pulp
1/2 C. honey (I use slightly less)
1 pinch turmeric
1/2 C, chopped cashews
2/3 C. fresh cilantro
2 garlic cloves
2 green onions
1 Tblsp. sugar
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp. ground cumin

For Dipping Sauce:

Boston Market Chicken

1/4 C. canola oil
1 Tblsp. honey
1 Tblsp. lime juice
1/4 tsp. paprika
4 chicken breast halves, washed and patted dry

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a small bowl, combine canola oil, honey, lime juice, and paprika.
Place chicken, skin side up, in a 7" x 11" inch baking dish.
Apply mixture to chicken pieces in a single layer.
Bake in oven for 35-40 minutes, basting every 8-10 minutes, until well browned and juices run clear when you cut into the thickest part of the chicken.
Remove from oven.

Boston Market Squash Casserole

4 1/2 C. Zucchini, diced
4 1/2 C.Yellow Squash, diced
1 1/2 C. Yellow Onion, chopped
1 Box Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix (prepare as directed on the box)
1 1/2 Sticks of Butter
8 ounces Chedder cheese
3 Cubes Chicken Bouillon
1/2 tsp.Thyme
1 Tblsp. Parsley, chopped
1 tsp. Garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. Ground Pepper
1 tsp. Salt

Prepare Jiffy Mix as directed on the box, set aside to cool.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Place zucchini and yellow squash in a large saucepan and add water to cover.
Cook on medium low heat until tender, remove from heat.

Baskin Robbins Cheesecake Ice Cream

2 1/2 C. heavy whipping cream
1 1/4 C. sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 1/2 8-ounce packages cream cheese, softened
1/2 teaspoon finely shredded lemon peel
1 Tblsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. vanilla
Graham Crackers broken into bits

In a large saucepan combine 1 1/2 cups of the whipping cream, sugar, and eggs. Cook and stir over medium heat just until boiling.

In a large mixing bowl beat cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth; slowly beat in hot mixture.
Cover and chill thoroughly.
Stir in remaining whipped cream, lemon peel, lemon juice, and vanilla.

Ruby Tuesday's Buffalo Chicken Wontons

12 wonton wrappers, cut into quarters
2 Tblsp. vegetable oil, to brush on wontons
6 C. water, to boil chicken
1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts
6 Tblsp. louisiana hot sauce
2 tsp.liquid margarine
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
blue cheese dressing
celery (to garnish)

Preheat the oven to 325F.

Place the wonton wrappers on a work surface and brush lightly with the oil.
Mold the wontons, oiled-side up, into the bottoms of miniature (1-inch) muffin tins.

Bake until light brown, about 5 minutes.

Applebee's Chicken Fajitas

3/4 - 1 C. chicken breast, marinated in fajita seasoning
1/2 tomato, chopped
1/2 - 3/4 C. onion, sliced in thin wedges
1 /2 to 3/4 C. red, yellow or green ( I like a combo) peppers,sliced in thin wedges
1/2 C. Cheddar cheese
1/4 C. sour cream
1/4 C. pico de gallo or salsa
4 flour tortillas
Fresh jalapenos (optional)

Place marinated chicken on clean lightly oiled broiler. Cook chicken until it reaches minimum temperature of 165 degrees.

Slice chicken into 32 to 40 pieces.
Saute tomato, onion and peppers until hot.

Place tortillas in the microwave for 14 seconds.

Applebee's Kahlua Mudslide

1/2 ounce Kahlua
1/2 ounce Bailey's Irish Cream
1/2 ounce vodka
1 ounce milk

Pour ingredients over ice and stir.

Applebee's Honey Barbeque Riblets

For the Barbeque Sauce:
1 C. ketchup
1/4 C. water
1/2 C. honey
1/2 C. corn syrup
1/4 C apple cider vinegar
2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
2 Tblsp. molasses
2 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. liquid smoke flavor

Combine all ingredients in saucepan and simmer for 20 minutes.

Riblet (Rib) Preparation:

For rib tips ("riblets") and full racks, first season ribs with salt, pepper and garlic to taste.

2 Tblsp. butter
6 ounces semisweet chocolate
2 ounces bitter chocolate
1 C. unsalted butter
1 tsp. vanilla extract
4 eggs, at room temperature
4 egg yolks, at room temperature
1/2 C. brown sugar, firmly packed
6 Tblsp. corn starch
10 ounce package frozen red raspberries in heavy syrup, thawed
1 pint fresh raspberries
12 triangular cookies or chocolate pieces
12 sprigs fresh mint

Butter (or coat with no-stick cooking spray) sides and bottoms of 12 4-ounce ramekins and set aside.

Applebee's Chimicheese Cake

10 - 12 flour tortilla shells, 6 1/2" diameter
2 (8 oz.) packages cream cheese, at room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 + 2 Tbsp. Flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 (20 oz.) can cooked apples, very well drained
1/2 cup almond toffee bits

Beat cream cheese until fluffy; add sugar and eggs, beat again. Add vanilla and mix well. Fold toffee bits and apple pieces in cheese mixture.

3 quarts Popped Popcorn (plain)
1/2 C.Butter
1/2 C. Brown Sugar
1/2 C. Sugar
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 C.Light Corn Syrup
5 ounces Bag Sliced Natural Almonds
1/4 tspBaking Soda
1 1/2 Tblsp. Butter Flavoring

Place popped popcorn in a large roasting pan that has been sprayed with a none stick spray and set aside.
In saucepan on low heat mix sugars, butter, salt, and corn syrup.
Let mixture come to a soft boil and place lid on pan for 30 seconds.
Remove lid and stir with clean spoon.

Wendy's Frosty

1 C.Milk
1/2 C. Nestle's Quik
3 C. Softened Vanilla ice cream-in refrigerator 1 hour

Blend Milk and Quik for 10 seconds on high speed.
"Pulse" in the ice cream until barely mixed.

Red Lobster's Shrimp Scampi

1 cup white wine
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (do not use margarine)
3 tablespoons minced garlic
1 lb. shrimp, peeled and deveined
Parsley flakes

Mix the wine, butter and garlic together and pour over the shrimp.

Sprinkle with paprika and parsley flakes.
Bake in a 350F oven for about 6 to 7 minutes.

Be careful not to overcook the shrimp. The shrimp is done when it has turned pink.

Thomas English Muffins

1 pound all-purpose or bread flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 tablespoons dry yeast
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1 cup warm milk
2 ounces butter, melted

Sift the flour and salt into a bowl and leave in a warm place.

Dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm (105 degrees F) milk.
Let froth, then mix in the butter. Stir all the liquid into the warm flour and beat well until smooth and elastic.
Cover and proof in a warm place for 50 minutes or until doubled in bulk.

Trader Joe's Couscous Salad

1 cup Trader Joe's Whole Wheat Couscous
1 cup Trader Joe's Vegetable Broth
1 can Trader Joe's Garbanzo Beans
1/2 cup Trader Joe's Green Onion, chopped
1/2 cup Trader Joe's Mediterranean Feta Cheese
1/2 cup Trader Joe's Kalamata Olives, diced
Trader Joe's Goddess Dressing, to taste

Cook the Couscous in vegetable broth according to directions on package.
Fluff with a fork, then add beans, onions, cheese and olives.
Dress the mixture and toss lightly.

Serves: 3 - 4
Cooking Time: 20 Minutes

McDonalds Fried Apple Pies


1 C. unbleached all-purpose flour
6 Tblsp. cold butter
1/4 C. ice water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar

2 C. peeled apples, chopped
1/2 C. apple cider
1/4 C. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
zest and juice of 1 lemon
2 Tblsp. flour

Combine the flour, salt, and sugar in the food processor. Cut up the butter into large chunks, and add to the flour.

Pulse until the mixture is crumbly.
Add the ice water and pulseuntil the dough is held together.

Crockpot Spicy Dip

2 lb. Velveeta cheese
2 lb. hamburger, cooked and drained
1 lg. jar Old El Paso taco sauce (or Rotel tomatoes)
1 lg. onion, chopped fine

Mix all together in Crock Pot where cheese will melt and all will remaining warm.
